Basketball Alberta Prepares For Second Year Of Alberta-Gangwon Women’s International Sport Exchange
Basketball Alberta is excited to be preparing for the second year of an international sport exchange between Alberta and Gangwon Province, South Korea. The international sport exchange is a government-to-government partnership project between Alberta Tourism, Parks, Recreation and Culture, Provincial Sport Associations, and the government of South Korea. The international sport exchange fosters sport development, friendship and potential economic development opportunities.
Last year Basketball Alberta hosted the U18 Gangwon Women’s Team during their stay in Alberta. This year the U17 Girls Provincial Team will be representing Basketball Alberta and the province of Alberta.
The U17 Girls have finalized their roster and begain their training before leaving for Gangwon on May 15th and returning on May 24th. The Delegates representing Basketball Alberta are Bob Mitchell, President of the Basketball Alberta Board of Directors, Francis Bonner-Parker, Secretary of the Basketball Alberta Board of Directors, U17 Girls Head Coach Erin McAleenan, and Assistant Coach Dave Waknuk.
Basketball Alberta is pleased to take part in the exchange again as it provides an amazing experience for all involved.
