The Western Canada Summer Games Team programs provide a spectacular experience, allowing athletes the opportunity to play with other talented athletes from their province to represent Alberta in Kamloops, BC.  Both male and female athletes born in 1996 or later are eligible to participate in the games. 

There will be only one open tryout for the Western Canada Games teams that takes place April 16, 2011 in Edmonton, AB.  Athletes in each category from this first tryout will be invited to participate at the final selection camp to field this year’s teams and have the opportunity to play at the Western Canada Games in Kamloops, BC.   Basketball Alberta Provincial Program scouts will be on hand to select the players to represent these squads.

Each Western Canada Games participant will pay a participation fee ($950 + GST = $997.50) which includes insurance coverage, the cost of official team apparel, official practice time, transportation, meals, and accommodation for Western Canada Summer Games.
