U14 - New to Team Alberta programming this year is the U14 Provincial team. This is the first year Basketball Alberta has offered a team for this age group and we are excited about adding yet another program to provide an opportunity for player development.

The Centre for Performance (CP) program is an elite program designed to teach the international (FIBA) game that includes both individual and team offensive and defensive skills. Participants will also learn various aspects of sports science that are necessary to become an elite basketball player.  The CP serves as one of the pathways for athletes and coaches who wish to be involved at the post secondary, provincial, national team or international level.

*Please Note: Beginnning in the Spring of 2013, the Basketball Alberta Mini Clinics program will be replacing the current Basketball Alberta Training Centre (BATC) program.

The BATC program is a training concept designed to begin the developmental process of elite level Albertan basketball players starting from a young age, with the objective to:

• Improve the individual skills and fitness levels of young athletes.
• Create a training environment where athletes and coaches are committed to excellence and understand the requirements for success.
• Improve the quality of basketball players across the province.
Our Mini-Clinics program is tailored towards youth development. One of our BA instructors will provide young athletes an opportunity to develop their skills and understand the game of basketball. The emphasis will be placed on playing the game while introducing new skills. Mini-Clinics are suited for youth ages 7 to 11 years old, with very little basketball experience.
The SNYB program is designed to create opportunities across Canada for all children and youth aged 5-13 to:
o Participate in basketball
o Learn and play the game under the direction of
qualied coaching and programming
o Learn to compete in a supportive and developmentfocused
environment
o Improve the Health of the Nation and Grow the Game
